We are Hazel Kirkham and Chris Elphick. We are partners in life and have been partners in business since 1991 where we started our first business in the UK offering organisational and business development consultancy and training services.
In 2000 we moved to live in New Zealand where Chris focused on business mentoring and Hazel worked with several public sector agencies as well as opening a contemporary art gallery. From 2011 to 2016 a New Zealand Aid business mentoring programme, and several other projects, took Chris to Fiji, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Samoa, Kiribati, Tonga and the Cook Islands, and also Timor Leste, while Hazel worked with the Cook Islands Public Service Commission, developed a disaster resilience guide for Pacific islands businesses, and delivered workshops for women running small business with colleagues in Tonga.. In 2017, we moved to live in Vanuatu where we established Breadfruit Consulting focusing exclusively on the Pacific islands. Chris worked with organisations and individuals in Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands to develop business coaches and coaching programmes, and Hazel worked with public and private sector clients and NGOs. For over 30 years our work has given us a stimulating and exciting life. We have loved rising to the challenges of each new project, in so many different settings, and working alongside clients and associates from whom we have learned so much. And now, having reached our 'retirement' years, it is time for a change of direction. In 2023, we wound up Breadfruit and early this year we moved to live in Greece where we will settle on the fascinating island of Lesvos.
